Global Teachers Award Level One

This course provides accredited recognition and is ideally suited to those teachers who are or would like to be ‘Global Advocates’ in their own schools or settings. This therefore will benefit both participants and their schools within the field of global learning. It is a Global Learning Programme approved course so registered GLP schools can use their e credits. (Please inform Liz if you wish to use this method of payment).

This is a full day course held at York St John University. Fee - £150 to include accreditation and refreshments and lunch.

Global Teachers Award Level Two

A course for teachers who have completed GTA Level 1 and who are eager to develop their practice. Over the two days there will be opportunities to explore the concept of global inequality and their responses to it. Teachers will be able to use this knowledge to begin to examine global themes through the lenses of sustainability, human rights, interdependence and global citizenship. They will appreciate the value of the whole school approach to global learning and will feel empowered to promote the implementation of this.

Outdoor Adventures!

Craven DEC is partnering with Gina Parker, and for the full day course RHS Harlow Carr, to offer an exciting new training opportunity for teachers from schools who want to expand their outdoor learning and education. Gina, who has worked in Outdoor Education, as a KS2 teacher and within global education for the past twenty years and now has her own company ‘Little Chatters’ www.littlechatters.co.uk will facilitate both courses. She will introduce approaches for use in the outdoors to explore global themes and as a result teachers will acquire an expanded menu of practical and interactive approaches to earth education. They will feel confident about adapting and using these with their pupils to introduce global themes, skills and outlooks. This can be delivered as two twilights or a full day course in schools or other suitable venues.

GLP credits can be used. Please contact liz@cravendec.org.uk  to discuss your requirements.
